Mainau Island, Bodensee Germany (lake Constance)

It's so easy to forget all the amazing things that lie in our 'back yard' that is southern Germany.  Really it is. This past weekend we enjoyed Mainau Island on the Bodensee, which is lake Constance bordered by Germany, Switzerland & Austria.  Only an hour & 45 minutes from us.  Just crazy!! You could probably explore the borders & coastlines of the Bodensee many days.  But we enjoyed just one afternoon parking our car & walking across the bridge to this amazing Island full of flowers (smelling like it to!) & full of lush landscapes.  It couldn't have been better.  It's so easy to get caught up wanting to see all the wonderful things that you thought you may never see in your life time but if you don't stop & see what's in your geographical  back yard you are truly missing out...I think that applies everywhere.

Heck we are in Germany, right?
