Finally after a week, or two, of forecasting snow Sunday it started coming down. Ever since we moved onto Robinson Barracks the kids have been eyeing this big, long hill & talking of the day when they could go sledding on it.....mind you that was August.... So you can imagine the excitement in our house when the flurries started & then went to full blown snow & accumulation. By Monday morning we had a good almost two inches. To my surprise the kids still had school, which hasn't happened in any of the places we've lived so far. I thought it was great, just like we did as kids in Virginia or I'm sure Kirk too in Michigan. Bundle 'em up & ship them out. For our kids, they walk, it wasn't a big deal but a large majority of the kid's school is bussed in. They had a full day & by the end we had about 4 plus inches. After school we put homework on the back burner & hit the hill with everyone else. They had SO much fun! It was so neat to see all the kids throughout the slope. Everyone decked out in snow gear, some on snowboards, even a guy on a bike?! It kept snowing the entire time. In the end we probably got a good 7 inches! And still only a two hour delay the next morning. (Much to the kids dismay & hopes for cancellation). Thank goodness we still got our homework done. We can't wait to do it again!!
